Collections
The Historical Society of Princeton provides access to nearly 4,000 photographs from its Photo Archives collection. This online database allows for keyword and advanced searching of the collection. Users will find photographs of Princeton landmarks, people, institutions, and events. (Click here to begin your search.)
In addition to the Photo Archives collection, users of the digital database will also find hundreds of three-dimensional objects in the Historical Society’s collection. Ranging from the smallest political campaign buttons to the largest pieces of furniture owned by Albert Einstein, the Historical Society’s object collection includes paintings and sculpture, decorative arts, textiles, archaeological artifacts, and ephemera.
If you have questions about how to search the online database, review the “Help” section in the database or email information@princetonhistory.org. Please note that the “Click & Search” feature will provide you with all available search terms in the database.
Users who wish to order photographic reproductions of original photographs they see in the online database may click here. Please note that reproduction of any photographs, images, or text without the express written approval of the Historical Society of Princeton is prohibited.
