Sylvanius Hunt House

561 Stockton Street

Part of The Next Generations’ Yeoman Farmers.

561

Little is known for certain about this house, except that it dates from the first half of the 18th century and that it was originally a modest, one-room frame house. This practical, simple style was common among the earliest farmers in the area. In a 1766 map (pictured), this is labeled as the home of Sylvanius Hunt.

Original Sections: the one-room original section of this house is no longer visible from the exterior
