HSP is thrilled to partner with Morven Museum and Garden and Princeton Battlefield for this FREE annual event celebrating community! Activities at both sites are free and open to the public.

At Morven, tour the museum exhibitions and gardens, listen to live music, sign the Declaration, check out the Historical Society’s Open Archive on Colonial Taverns, and experience a dramatic reading of Frederick Douglass’ 1852 speech, “What to the Slave is the Fourth of July?” with award-winning poet David Mills at 1:00 pm. There will also be Civic Education crafts, community partner activities, face painting and food trucks.

A short distance away at Princeton Battlefield State Park, visit the historic Clarke House for tours, Continental Army drills, readings of the Declaration of Independence at 1:00 p.m. and 3:30 pm, musket firing demonstrations, 18th century crafts and cooking demonstrations.
