Due to the current social distancing guidelines, this year’s Building Princeton program will be held online!
Click here to see the finished work of our participants.

For this year’s virtual edition, a limited number of teams will receive a photograph and story of a historic Princeton building to construct with their own LEGOs at home. They will have 5 days to complete their model. When complete, teams will submit a photo to the Historical Society. On April 19, submissions will be posted on our website and pinned to a customized Google Map of Princeton.

Building Princeton is designed to increase awareness of the town’s rich architectural heritage. This family program, with adults and children working together, is ideal for children ages 8-12, but all ages are encouraged to participate.

Created by Building Blocks Workshops, LLC, this event has been featured in other cities, including Montclair, Morristown, and Summit. HSP has hosted the event in Princeton since 2018.

Note for the virtual event:
If you would like to participate, but do not have a supply of LEGOs at home, you may either just build the facade (front) of the building, or feel free to use any materials you may have on hand to build a 3-D replica of your assigned building.

A limited number of building assignments are available – please register below. Then check your email on Monday, April 13 for your building and further instructions. Questions? E-mail eve@princetonhistory.org.
