HSP’s newest exhibit Princeton Reflected is now open at our museum at Updike Farmstead!
The objects and their stories showcased in exhibit are a glimpse of those preserved by the Historical Society of Princeton–some familiar, others less so. Since 1938, HSP has grown to more than 100,000 items, ranging from artifacts and furniture, clothing, photographs, paintings, architectural drawings, and maps. Each year our holdings expand to reflect Princeton’s diverse stories, people, and events.
Princeton’s history is all around us, from historic buildings and street names, to deeply rooted communities and familiar storefronts. Our landscape, both physical and cultural, is always evolving. The historical collections featured in this exhibition offer snapshots into individual moments, lives, and events that invite us to rethink how we understand Princeton’s history. From simple bar stools to a child’s dollhouse, ordinary objects from our vast collection come alive through the stories and people associated with them.
This collection represents more than just items; it embodies our commitment to preserving the essence of our community’s past and present.
